Can we decorate the hen party house?

Yes. Decorations are absolutely welcome and we offer early check‑in from 1:00pm for up to 5 guests so you can get everything set up before the rest of the group arrives.

We do ask that you use low‑tack decorators’ tape only — no Sellotape, sticky dots, double‑sided tape, Blu Tack or similar, as they can damage paint.
No glitter‑filled balloons, please. Confetti‑filled balloons are fine, but burst them into a bin liner before you leave.

Is there a sound system or do we need to bring our own speaker?

Yes, we provide a commercial grade sound system with Bluetooth connectivity which pairs easily to all smart devices (iPhone and Android) so very easy to stream your own curated playlists or music from any online streamling service.

Do you have a Karaoke system?

Yes, our Karaoke system is a touch-screen, commerical grade system with around 500K songs to choose from. It has wireless mics and runs simultaneously with the lasers and strobe lights so maximum fun guaranteed!

Can guest numbers change after booking?

Yes. Our flexible hen party pricing allows you to adjust guest numbers up to one week before arrival, making planning stress-free.

Can we add an extra night to our hen weekend?

Yes. An extra night is available with just six guests and is especially popular on Thursday or Sunday for a relaxed arrival or wind-down, ideal for spa treatments and quality bridal-party time before or after the main celebrations.

Do you allow wild or late-night celebrations?

No. If you’re looking for a party-until-dawn venue, please don’t book with us as we’re not the right fit.

How many guests can Horn Cote Barn & Cottage sleep?

Horn Cote Barn & Cottage sleeps up to 26 guests, with the option to accommodate up to 32 guests by prior arrangement. It’s one of the largest hen party houses in West Yorkshire … and, I know I’m biased, but it’s probably one of the best locations as well!

How many bedrooms are there?

There are 8 bedrooms across 3 floors, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for large groups and hen parties.

Is there a ground floor bedroom?

Yes. The property includes a ground floor bedroom suite with a kitchenette area, ensuite, 48” Smart TV, double sofa and easy chair, and it has level, step‑free internal access, making it ideal for guests with reduced mobility.

How many bathrooms are there?

The property includes:

5 bathrooms, 4 of which are en-suite
✔ An additional shower, toilet and basin in the sauna suite
Extra downstairs toilet and basin

What entertainment facilities are included?

Guests have exclusive access to:

✔ A 12m (40ft) entertainment room with commercial grade karaoke system, laser lighting and Bluetooth sound system

Do you offer a cinema room?

Yes, by special request. Our pop-up cinema features a 100” screen, 4K projector, built-in Google TV and streaming access.

Is there outdoor space?

Yes. The property includes:

✔ A private courtyard with hot tub, cedarwood sauna and seating
Two large gardens with countryside views, ideal for outdoor dining and group gatherings

What are the hot tub and sauna hours?

The hot tub is available daily from 9.30am to 10.30pm.
For safety, we carry out water quality checks and adjust spa chemicals twice a day (around 8.30am and 5.00pm), during which the hot tub will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes. Outside of these checks, the hot tub is yours to enjoy throughout your stay.

The sauna is available during the same hours. Guests can select a 3-hour session to suit their plans. Please note the sauna takes around 40 minutes to heat up, so allow time for it to reach temperature.

Is the kitchen suitable for large groups?

Yes. The farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped for up to 30 guests, with extensive cooking facilities, a full range of cookware, catering‑quality tableware, wine glasses, champagne flutes, tall tumblers, and unbreakable wine glasses and flutes for outdoor use.

Is bedding and towels provided?

Yes. We provide:

✔ All bedding
One bath towel and one hand towel per guest

Spa Towels: Guests should bring their own towels or robes for the hot tub, sauna and outdoor use.

Are dogs allowed?

Up to two small or medium, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
However, we do not recommend dogs for hen party groups.

What is included in the booking?

Every stay includes:

✔ Secure off-road parking for up to 12 cars

How much does it cost to book?

Prices vary by season:

Low season hen party weekends from £2,660
Mid season hen party weekends from £2,940
High season hen party weekends from £3,920

Minimum guest numbers apply depending on the time of year.

Are there any additional fees?

Yes:

£125 one-off group booking fee
£600 refundable housekeeping bond (pre-authorised and released after departure)

How do we secure our hen party booking?

Once you receive the booking form, you can choose:

1. £50 per guest deposit + booking fee
2. Minimum £800 group deposit (covers 16 guests) + booking fee
3. £200 holding fee to reserve dates for 10 days

When is the final balance due?

The final balance is due 8 weeks before arrival, including any activities or add-ons.

What time is check-in and check-out?

✔ Early check-in from 1:00pm for up to 5 guests
✔ Main check-in from 3:00pm
✔ Check-out by 10:00am (automatically extended to 11.00am if we don’t have another group coming in the same day)

Where are you located?

Holmfirth Hens is located in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire (HD9 7DG), within easy reach of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.
The property is conveniently located for the M1 and M62 motorways, with Huddersfield and Wakefield Westgate train stations c 25-30 minutes away.

Is parking available?

Yes. There is secure off-road parking for up to 12 vehicles directly outside the property.

Is the kitchen suitable for large groups?

Yes – the farmhouse kitchen at Horn Cote Barn & Cottage is perfectly designed for hen parties and large group catering, comfortably supporting up to 30 guests. Whether you’re self-catering, hosting a private chef, or doing a mix of both, the space, equipment and layout make group catering easy and stress-free.

How many ovens and hobs are there?

The kitchen features two SMEG range cookers, giving you serious cooking capacity:

90cm double oven with grill
60cm single oven with grill
9-burner gas hob

This setup allows multiple dishes to be cooked at the same time – ideal for big breakfasts, shared dinners, or catering teams.

Is the kitchen well equipped for self-catering?

Yes. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality, group-friendly equipment, including:

Yes – guests often comment on how much storage there is. Cold storage includes:

Large Bosch 50/50 fridge freezer in the kitchen (approx. 16 bags of shopping)
Additional full-size fridge freezer in the garage

50-bottle drinks fridge in the bar area

Do you supply kitchen and household essentials?
